We are now seeking a professional Grant Associate who maintains the following professional qualities:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an administration support experience in a team oriented organization committed to excellence in supporting its constituents.
  • Philanthropic experience and/or grants compliance experience a plus.
  • An exceptional eye for reviewing data to ensure its accuracy and validity.
  • Maintains and respect the sensitive, private and confidential nature of information related to grant recommendations, grantees, donors, advisors and the Foundation.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with an orientation toward detail, and the ability to work on several projects at one time with multiple deadlines 3-5 years of Journalism experience.
  • Strong capabilities to build relationships quickly.
  • Passion for fast paced environments.
  • Database maintenance experience preferred.
  • Positive attitude and a great sense of humor required.

How You Will Spend Your Day:
  • Assisting the executive director with grant research, funder and proposal processes
  • Provide development support through studying foundation reports, email communications, appeals and research communications.
  • Complete prospect funder research.
  • Support other departments and duties as needed.
  • Preparing and submitting monthly grant dockets in an accurate and timely manner, to the Grants
    Manager.

Entry level/ No salary. This is a Volunteer position. (Will sign off on community service or volunteer hours)

Description

CKAR CDC is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that forms strategic partnerships in order to implement projects in the Greater Riverdale community, including community and economic development, workforce training, environmental sustainability, business retention, and advocacy. CKAR’s Sarvis Empowerment Café is currently under construction and will open in early 2020. Once opened, Sarvis Café will serve as both a powerful gathering place for the community and a training site for future workers and business leaders.
