At the Sisters of Charity Marillac Residence in Wellesley each of the ten small communities of Sisters may celebrate monthly birthdays, holidays and "just because" days. Typically, this involves a shared meal with conversation and occasionally a share activity.
The Volunteer aka Celebration Angel’s role is to meet the Sisters each month (or more) and assist with the planning and hosting of the celebration(s). You may work with one or multiple communities as you are able and of course enjoy the party as a guest.
Each community has a celebration fund for the food and celebration supplies. You will encourage and assist with planning, get menus, order food and transport the delivery to the community. Our building has elevators, transport carts, air conditioning and fully supplied, comfortable community rooms. Although some of the Sisters have limited mobility, many will take part in the party setup and appreciate your assistance.
Community Leadership will be available to guide you through the first few events and as needed.
Our home is a peaceful place with residents currently from Sisters of Charity - Halifax, Marist Sisters and Sisters of Jesus and Mary.
You should love event planning, be cheerful and a team player. Having a Catholic background may be helpful, but is not necessary. We seek kind people who appreciate kindness in others.

We, Sisters of Charity - Halifax are a congregation of consecrated women sharing the gift of a call to give joyful witness to Love. Associates are men and women who recognize the charism of charity within themselves and share in our mission and goals.
