ORGANIZATION: Children's Home + Aid

Every 3 minutes, someone calls Children's Home & Aid for help for a child. Be a part of answering that call. The Daniel F. and Ada L. Rice Child & Family Center provides a therapeutic setting for young children with severe mental health and behavior challenges. Children's Home & Aid seeks a volunteer receptionist at Rice Child & Family Center in Evanston. This volunteer opportunity is appropriate for someone who enjoys working independently on multiple projects and thrives in a fast-paced work environment. Needs include:

  • answering and transferring calls
  • answering the door
  • completion of light office work, such as postage
  • copying
  • small amount of data entry
The desired time commitment is 2-3 days per week, 8:30 a.m. -4:30 p.m. Additional details: Volunteers must pass a fingerprint background check including CANTS and LEADS
