Human Services Secretary
Blairsville Service Unit
Position: Human Services Secretary
Location: Blairsville, PA 15717
Target Start date: Immediately
Hours of Operation: as needed.
Reports to: Field Representative
Description of position:
The Human Services Secretary is responsible for intake interviews, providing emergency food, utility assistance, eviction prevention, homeless services, disasters, including fires, flooding and tornado, all through writing vouchers.
List of the vital job functions:
- Take referrals, responding to the people in need
- Returning phone calls, responding to caller’s needing assistance
- Empathize with the clients we serve, try to help them in any way we can
- Contacting local vendors to see if they would accept our vouchers
Requirements:
Good verbal and written communication skills required. Cannot be a client that needs goods or services at the same time being a volunteer. Willingness to help others.
