Join The Institute for Regional Conservation (IRC) as we work with the City of Delray Beach to help restore the Lake Ida Parcel - an important greenspace located to the north of Lake Ida Park. This is a great opportunity to learn about restoring and conserving green spaces in South Florida through hands on experience!

This is volunteer day #5 at this site and volunteers will help us plant a variety of native mesic hammock plants throughout the parcel, remove invasive plants and pick up trash. Volunteers of all ages are welcome.

We will meet at the Lake Ida Park boat ramp where volunteers will check in, receive a free t-shirt, and be shuttled over to the site via boat. We will provide plenty of water and all gloves/tools that are needed for the morning. We ask that participants wear closed toe shoes and long pants for safety reasons.

We hope to see you there!

About The Institute for Regional Conservation

Location:

100 East Linton Boulevard, Suite 302B, Delray Beach, FL 33483, US

Mission Statement

A private non-profit organization, The Institute for Regional Conservation (IRC) is dedicated to the protection, restoration, and long-term management of biodiversity on a regional basis, and to the prevention of regional extinctions of rare plants, animals and ecosystems.

Description

Based in Florida, USA, IRC works on conservation research and action throughout South Florida, the Caribbean and beyond. Our work is premised on an innovative idea of conservation that seeks to protect and restore viable populations of all plant and animal species within a region, rather than simply focusing on charismatic animals or plants with narrow global ranges.
