The City of San Fernando is looking for volunteers to assist as volunteer coaches for the Youth Soccer Program. The Youth Soccer Program is design to teach and develop young athletics in a supportive and nurturing environment focusing on teaching life skills thought the sport of soccer. Volunteers will be trained to promote health living, teamwork, and community engagement before being assigned to a team as a head coach or as an assistant. The age group of the youth in our soccer program will range from 11 to 14 years old.
We encourage anyone who has a positive attitude, likes interacting with the public and wants to make a difference in the lives of youth people to register as a volunteer coach for our Youth Soccer Program.

Description
The Recreation and Community Services Department is comprised of four (4) divisions, including Community Services, Recreation, Cultural Arts/ Special Events and Administration. Together, the Divisions provide programming and resources to the community that include youth/adult sports, day camps, after school programs, cultural arts, wellness/fitness, senior services, teen programing, special events and volunteer opportunities. Each year, it is estimated that more than 250,000 visits for the organized programing provided by the Department and an additional 200,000 for non-organized activities at park facilities.
