ORGANIZATION: Arizona Sustainability Alliance

City of Peoria Liaison - Priority Co-Lead

Reporting to one of our Program Coordinators, the Priority Leader(s) will be responsible for organization and coordination of their assigned priorities. You will provide strategic and tactical guidance to volunteers on your team in ways that promote the organization’s culture and align to the overarching purpose of the priority and AZSA as a whole. You will also oversee the progress of operations related to the priority and be responsible for reporting status on a weekly basis, and periodically meeting with the ED and potentially the board at regular organizational meetings.

The role of the city liaisons is to work directly with city officials to understand what the sustainability needs of the communities are, what needs are being met by the cities, and what are the cities unable to do. Capacity building in communities is key. For example, in Mesa we are working on a neighborhood level to educate and demonstrate sustainable practices. Every month our Mesa liaison and team will move to different neighborhoods working with other non-profits to provide training on a residential level. Our goal is to utilize innovation for achieving community well-being. This also lessens the burden on cities to promote what sustainability programs they may already have in place that of which the public is unaware.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader and will have experience in managing resources of different disciplines to produce results in a timely manner. They will also be able to develop efficient strategies and tactics.

The goal is to ensure that all programs deliver the desirable outcome to our organization and align with the requirements of any associated grants used to fund activities.
