Every Friday morning, from 9:00 to 11:30, we have 2 young children's Spanish/English storytimes.
One storytime is at 9:45 and the other is at 10:30. Our library staff reads books in Spanish and the helper would read in English, taking turns, one page at a time. There are songs during the storytimes and the storytimes are energetic and fun! The helper would help staff set up the storytimes and cleaning up afterwards. Sometimes the staff plans a craft for after the storytime, and the helper would assist.
The staff plans the storytimes, and coming at 9:00, would give the staff and helper time to practice and go over the storytimes for the morning. We need a volunteer who is able to come in every Friday morning to help, although if the volunteer is ill or on vacation, please let staff know as soon as possible.
For applicants 18 and older, a fingerprinting needs to be done, at no cost to the person, and we give information on how to do this. If interested in this volunteer opportunity, please contact Kelly Jones/
Volunteer Coordinator, San Carlos Library, firstname.lastname@example.org and (650) 591-0341 extension 231.
