For people interested in gaining experience in organizational management and administration, this is the position for you! This position will involve managing much of the day-to-day operations of the Tellus Nova Foundation.
Our officer position of Assistant Director is currently vacant, and the Executive Director of the TNF will be taking a hiatus from the daily management of the TNF in order to focus on managing the AqauDrop project. The Assistant Director will be responsible for: managing division officers, as well as performing hands-on management of division staff when needed (we typically have 20-30 staff members at any given time; keeping track of staff, their contact information, and assignments; delegating tasks and responsibilities; recruiting staff; making phone calls; organizing events; attending meetings; etc. The Tellus Nova Foundation currently does not have an office (though we are fundraising for one: https://www.gofundme.com/tellusnova), and most of our staff live outside of California, so most of the management will be done by e-mail and telephone correspondence. Nonetheless, the Assistant Director must be able to attend our meetings for local TNF staff, preferably in-person, as most of our senior staff attend these meetings.
The responsibilities associated with this position are quite extensive, but the Executive Director and other current officers will help to train you. We only want long-term volunteers (at least 6-months) for this position, and if you end up moving on afterwards, we can provide you with references and a letter of recommendation for a job well-done. Options for compensation may become available in the future, and as the TNF continues to grow, the TNF and its partners may be able to offer paid positions with subsidiary organizations.
