ORGANIZATION: Alzheimer's Association, Northern CA and Northern NV

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Hello!

We are currently searching for volunteers to assist with our 7th Annual RivALZ: Beach vs. Bay (Formerly known as Blondes versus Brunettes) Women's Charity Football fundraiser on September 14th at the Gaelic Athletics Fields on Treasure Island, Field A. All of the funds raised from this event will go towards care and support while advancing research to find preventative measures and ultimately a cure. Alzheimer's is the 3rd leading cause of death in the state of California. Will you join us in the fight against this disease?

Throughout the day, we will need many volunteers to help us make the event a success. We will need some people to set up the even, tear down and clean up of event, sell tickets, assist with Tshirt sales, operate the photo booth, assist with activities for kids, collect tickets and check IDs, assist people by directing them to the stadium, be the beer/wine bartender, help the crowd understand where the first down is and assist the referee as needed, be water boy/girl and provide water to players and coaches on the field, be the scorekeeper, be the timekeeper, be able to give first aid, be the navigator and offer directional assistance and help direct people from the parking lot to the stadium, hold the banner at the entrance of the game, be cheerleaders for each team, be a videographer and be a photographer.

Consider volunteering for Game Day at: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090d4aacab2ba5ff2-rivalz1 or visit act.alz.org/RivALZsf to purchase tickets. Please feel free to share this to anyone who may be interested. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Yelitza Pena, RivALZ Volunteer Coordinator with questions (penayelitza@gmail.com) . Thank you, The Alzheimer's Association

Mission Statement

The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research. Our mission: To eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. Our vision, A world without Alzheimer's disease.

Description

We provide programs and support services for patients, families, caregivers, and others in the San Francisco Bay Area affected by Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. Outside the federal government, the Alzheimer's Association is the largest research funder in the country and offers advocacy opportunities to make public policy change.

At the Alzheimer's Association, diversity and inclusion are vital to our mission. The Association leads strategic initiatives to support diversity and a culture of inclusivity. These strategic initiatives also strengthen outreach to all populations, providing communities with resources and support to address the Alzheimer’s crisis. By partnering with organizations locally and nationally to advance diversity and inclusion, the Association can broaden its reach in all communities.
