Share joy! Volunteering for even just 6 hours per month brings peace, comfort, and companionship to those who are no longer able to be out and about- be the one to make a world of difference to another!
We are looking for volunteers to provide companionship and support to patients during the final months and weeks of life. Volunteers provide non-medical services and short periods of respite time for caregivers and family members.
As a hospice volunteer you will be given choices as to how much and what types of things you want to do. Here are a few specific ways Hospice Volunteers can help:
- provide companionship & socialization
- help with general office support
- run errands for patients and families
- play games, read, and listen to music with patients
- walk/care for family pets
- assist with light housecleaning
-create a photo album of the patient and their family
- write a journal or life story with patients to give to their family
We value the generosity of our volunteers and provide training and ongoing support - giving 6 hours a month truly can make a difference in the lives of our patients and families! Join the Encompass family!
