Assist Red Cross in delivering its mission to provide relief to victims of disaster and help prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

• Interview clients affected by emergencies or disasters to assess their immediate emergency needs. Provide direct assistance to clients based on their specific needs using the Chapter pricing guide.
• Follow up with clients after disasters to provide additional referrals and information to clients about partner organizations and programs to help meet their needs.
• Document assistance given to clients following Red Cross policies and utilizing the CAS 2.0 system (if applicable and training is completed).
• Accept tasks and direction from the Disaster Program Specialist. Assist in office administration of Disaster Services Department.
• Attend regularly scheduled meetings. Participate in advanced trainings, exercises, and drills when offered in the chapter.
• As needed, support recurrent and non-recurrent operations across the region.
• Be familiar with and adhere to Red Cross confidentiality policies at all times.

-Qualifications-

• Good computer skills, including an ability and willingness to learn new systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Effective prioritization and task management.
• Effective communication with clients from diverse backgrounds in a sympathetic and caring manner.
• Ability to clearly communicate the mission of the Red Cross.

-Time Commitment-
4 hours per week in the office and attendance at monthly disaster meeting.
