Experienced pet therapy dogs and handlers are needed to visit facility and possibly home patients. Must be certified and current through an established, well-known pet therapy organization such as Pet Partners (Delta Society), Paws Across Texas, Therapy Dogs International, etc. Dogs must be friendly with strangers, obedient to command, completely controllable, registered in your city, utd on required vaccines, receiving regular heartworm, flea, tick and intestinal parasite preventatives and have a vet statement of health.
Some breeds are not suitable for work with dementia patients because of breed development characteristics.
