Keep Fishers Beautiful is an expansive initiative to beautify our City, maintain valuable natural resources, and build pride in the community. Keep Fishers Beautiful encompasses four major project areas: the neighborhood blitz, Spring Service Day at Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve, parks clean-ups, and the Fishers Recycling Day. The neighborhood blitz, Spring Service Day at Ritchey Woods, and park-clean-ups all need volunteers. We can accommodate teams of almost any size at this event. Please see below for information on individual projects. Individual volunteers and volunteer groups can sign up for these activities. We require one adult vounteer for every 6-10 youth volunteers (if your group has youth volunteers).
Neighborhood Blitz

Fishers staff and the community will come together in a joint effort to promote the beautification of our City as well as to encourage neighbors to help neighbors with projects around their property in the chosen neighborhood.

Projects include:
- Removing brush
- Pruning services
- Basic landscaping
- Basic painting
* Additional projects TBD as materials permit

All ages and physical abilities are welcome. Volunteer assignments will be given per physical limitations. Help our neighbors and beautify our City!

The program is scheduled to last from 8:00 to 1:00 p.m. on April 13, 2019 though the length of the program will be determined by how many households participate.

Spring Service Day at Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve

Help combat invasive plant species at this wonderful natural resource by walking throughout Ritchey Woods and removing garlic mustard and honeysuckle.

This event takes place Saturday, April 13, 2018 from 9am-1pm. You must be available on that date to take part in this annual event and have the ability to work outside. It's great for groups or individuals. You do not have to work all day. Come and go anytime between 9am-3pm. All training will be provided on site.

Bring work gloves if you have them. Snacks and water will be provided, but you may bring your own as well. This opportunity can help Scout groups earn a badge.

Long pants and sleeves are recommended to avoid poison ivy. Close-toed shoes are required.

Parks clean-ups

Volunteers and volunteer groups will work on projects including but not limited to mulching, trash pick-up, maintenance, and light landscaping. Together as a community we can enjoy improving our surroundings.
Clean-ups will go from 8:00 to 1 p.m. unless finished ahead of schedule.

You or your group will be assigned a project site for the morning, and you'll meet at that site.
