Be a part of our Surgicare volunteer team! Our volunteers minimize anxiety and boredom by addressing comfort needs of the patients, family, and friends; they play a central role in providing a warm, clean, and welcoming environment for each of our visitors.

Surgicare Escort Volunteers assist with patient discharges, escort family members to consult rooms for post-surgical updates and bring family and friends to the appropriate location after a patient is admitted to a room following surgery.

When not assisting patients, family, and friends volunteers in this assignment provide behind-the-scenes assistance to the department by helping prep charts and packets. Volunteers receive training on safe wheelchair handling and patient transport, customer service, and patient confidentiality.

Times: Weekday mornings (8-Noon) and Afternoons (Noon-4pm)

Age Restriction: Adult, or out of college

Requirement: Must be able to push wheelchairs
