The Texas Association of Charitable Clinics VISTA Leader must have prior service experience through either a full term of VISTA, NCCC, AmeriCorps State and National, or the Peace Corps. The VISTA Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the VISTA Program including, but not limited to regular check ins with VISTA Members, on-going training and professional development, and continued recruitment for sustained program success. The VISTA Leader will also develop relations with other programs throughout the state to create best practices for program management.
The aim of a VISTA Leader is to expand and build the capacity of the VISTAs (and VISTA Summer Associates) they lead, in coordination with the projects in which they serve. Leaders provide support and coordination for members to increase the project's impact. VISTA Leaders make about $610 bi-weekly and are eligible for either an education award of $6,095 or a cash stipend of approximately $3,000 at completion of service.

Description
The Texas Association of Charitable Clinics, TXACC, is a private nonprofit organiztaion that provides support, education, rsources and advocacy to free and charitable clinics statewide in Texas. These are clinics largely run by volunteers providing low cost care to people who are low-income and uninsured.
Texas Association of Charitable Clinics (TXACC) is a private, not-for-profit membership association - 501 (c)(3) that supports Texas’ free and charitable clinics.
Through mentoring, the provision of resources, education, advocacy efforts, and services, TXACC seeks to strengthen the charitable clinic system in Texas. Each of our more than 70 clinics is an independent enterprise. Some are faith-based, others are community-based. All are established as 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organizations.
