Saturday, August 25th
Registration/Pep Rally/Expo/Transition
2:30pm-6:30pm
Volunteers for this shift can expect to be helping with one or more of the following; packet pick-up, crowd control, expo activities, kids activity areas, poster making and bike check-in.
Sunday, August 26th,
Course Set-up/Body Marking/Transition/Expo Area
5:30am-11:30am
Volunteers for this shift, "yawn" may be helping with body marking, transition and final course set-up. Then (around 7:00am) you will shift to an assigned spot during the race. This could include the run course, bike course, pool area, transition area, staging area, event expo, etc
Swim Course/Bike Course/Run Course/Finish Line/Water Stations
6:30am-12:30pm
Volunteers for this shift will be assigned to one of our race day teams. This may include the run course, bike course, pool area, transition, staging area, event expo, water stations, finish line, etc.
Race Day Clean-Up Crew
11:00am - 3:00pm
The late volunteer shift on Sunday is responsible for returning the WGAC to the exact same shape we found it in. Expect a lot of manual labor and heavy lifting as you will be helping with event clean-up and break down. Specific responsibilities include cutting zip ties, collecting trash, rolling soft fencing, moving crowd control barricades, pulling posts, and loading the equipment back onto our truck.

Description
Organized by Kids Triathlon, Inc. (a 501c(3) entity), this event will attract 1,500 racers. This is one of very few kids triathlons sanctioned by USATriathlon in New England during 2019, and it will be one of the largest kids triathlon ever held in the Northeast.
Race distances are set by the USATriathlon and are designed to be challenging but achievable for kids. Ages 5 - 10 will swim 100 yards; bike 3 miles; and run 0.5 miles. Ages 11 - 15 will swim 200 yards; bike 6 miles; and run 1 mile. The swim will be in the M.I.T. pool, the bike course will be on Memorial Drive, and the run course will be on campus. All aspects of the course will be closed to traffic with the safety of the participants the primary objective.
