A major goal of the Bellingham nonprofit "Growing Alliances" is to decrease the likelihood that marginalized youth and youth transitioning out of foster care will find themselves unemployed, incarcerated or homeless. Growing Alliances by provides paths to financial stability by employing youth in their Urban Garden project.
Growing Alliance's end of Season Brunch Fundraiser will celebrate the end of a second season growing food, strengthening youth job skills and addressing local food insecurity. Guests will enjoy a brunch grown by the Youth Garden Crew, music by local artists, and food, garden and family related auction items!

Mission Statement
Empowering at risk and foster youth through vocational opportunities in urban agriculture.
Description
Growing Alliances’ Fostered Youth Employment Program employs a team of youth ages 16-24 to grow food to donate, sell and cook for themselves, while they simultaneously participate in workshops on job skills and on the history, economics and politics of the food system.
Growing Alliances is a job readiness program, so our youth employees participate in weekly workshops, which cover work qualities that employers and researchers find valuable for job security. We provide other opportunities to gain applicable skills by creating Youth Positions in the organization that may relate more closely to their interests. These positions include but are not limited to: sales, social media coordinator, film maker, artist/designer, budgeting and community outreach/marketing.
