Hands
Connect with an isolated older adult.

With texting, tweeting, and Facebook-ing, talking on the phone can sometimes feel like a thing of the past. Rediscover this lost activity and help isolated older adults feel more connected.

Family Eldercare's Lifetime Connections Without Walls is a telephone-based program that provides socially and/or physically isolated older adults an opportunity to connect, learn, and have fun with others in their community and across the country. Our program offers social and educational classes, support groups, and friendly conversation - all over the telephone - all from the comfort of home.

This volunteer opportunity involves facilitating a class with our program. We can either match you up with a class or if you have an idea for a class, we can work together to plan it and figure out the details.

The time commitment for this opportunity is up to you. Each of our four annual sessions (winter, spring, summer, fall) includes 13 weeks of classes (with breaks for holidays). Your commitment can range during those 13 weeks depending on how often you'd like to facilitate a class, e.g. weekly, monthly, special series (2-3), one-time only.

This volunteer opportunity is completely virtual and can be done anywhere. All you need is a telephone, computer, and internet connection.

Training and on-going support provided.

Thank you so much for considering this opportunity and we hope you'll join us!
