Valley Program for Aging Services (VPAS) uses volunteer drivers for our Senior Transportation Program. Rides are provided to adults 60 years and older and people under 60 years who have a disability. Rides are limited to people who don't have other transportation options.

VPAS's Senior Transportation program is primarily for medical appointments, but also offers trips to the grocery store, bank, and other local life necessary destinations. Medical appointment trips are most commonly to Fishersville, Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, Waynesboro, and Staunton.

To be a Senior Transportation driver you must enjoy working with older adults, pass a physical exam, have a clean driving and criminal history background check, and participate in training. Volunteer drivers have the option of driving their own vehicles or a VPAS van.

Schedules are based on volunteer preferences; weekly, monthly, or as needed.

Due to the increasing demand for rides, more volunteers are needed. Interested prospect volunteers should call 540-949-7174 or email erin@vpas.info for more information and to obtain a volunteer application.
