Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Eugene Science Center

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 1 person is interested

The Eugene Science Center is putting on its first low-sensory event! This is for children ages 5-15 with disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder and sensory processing disorder, and their families or guardians. The museum will be transformed to provide a space for young learners to explore and have fun in a low stress environment.

Volunteers will be assisting with the set and take down, the sensory room, and staffing exhibit hall activities. No prior experience working with children with disabilities is needed! All necessary training will be provided on the evening of August 17th. Volunteers need to be 16 years of age or older, and pass our background check requirements.

For volunteers below the age of 18, or who are not US citizens, you will need to provide a signed reference form, available for download at: eugenesciencecenter.org/volunteer.

For all US citizens aged 18 or older, you will need to submit to a criminal background check. Forms will be provided at the August 17th training. We request a $17 donation to cover our cost of running the background check.
