The Women’s Center, Inc. of Columbia/Montour to Host Volunteer Training
Bloomsburg, PA: The Women’s Center, Inc. of Columbia and Montour counties is hosting their Fall Volunteer Training, which enables individuals to work directly with The Women’s Center staff in providing free and confidential services to victims and children of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. Men and women over the ages of 18 are invited to apply for the course. The training is for anyone interested in giving back to the community through advocacy and the empowerment of others!
The Fall 2018 direct service volunteer training course is a 60 hour training course which consists of ten instructional night classes and twelve hours of hands on, one on one crisis counseling instruction with professional advocates. The instructional night classes are held on Thursdays from 6pm to 9pm and will commence on Sep 6th, 2018. The night classes will last through Nov 29th, 2018. All of the classes will be held at The Women’s Center, Inc.’s administration building, located at 111 N. Market St. in Bloomsburg. We do ask for a $40.00 refundable deposit to cover access to training materials.

Description
The Women's Center of Columbia/Montour, Inc., provides services to victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse, including, 24 hour hotline, emergency shelter for battered women and their children, medical advocacy, individual and group counseling, and emotional and practical support. The Women's Center of Columbia/Montour, Inc., also provides advocacy and accompaniment to police, hospital, legal appointments, court, and social service agencies.
