Become a certified A Matter of Balance Fall Prevention Coach.

A Matter of Balance is a proven, award-winning program designed to help people manage concerns about falls and increase their physical activity.

The training is free - including your lunch and Coach’s manual - but space is limited, so register today!

This one-day interactive workshop will provide prospective coaches with the tools to help participants who have a fear falling or history of falls to become more confident, help to identify ways to reduce falls, and lead exercises to help increase activity level, strength, and balance.

What do you need to be a coach?

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Volunteers choose where and when to lead classes.
  • Enthusiasm, dependability, and a willingness to lead small groups of older adults.
  • Ability to lead low to moderate level exercise.

Description

The Agency plans and coordinates services for persons ages 60 and older and their family caregivers who live in the 14 counties surrounding Dallas and Tarrant. Direct services include: information and referral, case management, benefits counseling, legal assistance, ombudsman, money organizer, homemaker, and caregiver education and training.
