What could make a Monday better? Spending your day at a beautiful golf course, soaking up the last rays of summer and helping out a great cause! You can do all of those things if you become a volunteer for our Swing for CF Charity Golf Classic on Monday, September 17th at Brookside Golf and Country Club.

Here's a little bit about us- Founded in 1955, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is the world's leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis. The Foundation was started by parents desperate to save their children’s lives. Their relentless and impassioned determination to prolong life has resulted in tremendous strides over the past 60 years in accelerating innovative research and drug development, as well as advancing care and advocacy. Virtually every approved cystic fibrosis drug therapy available now was made possible because of the Foundation and its supporters. Still, we believe no one should have to die at a young age. We will not rest until we have a cure for all people living with CF.

Now that you know us a little better, allow me to give you a brief overview of our Swing event-

Guests will join us on Monday, September 17, 2018 at the prestigous Brookside Golf and Country Club. Golfers will enjoy a delicious lunch followed by 18 holes of scramble style golf. A cocktail and hors d'oeuvres reception with unique and enticing live auction will follow.

Schedule of Events
Golfer Registration and Lunch: 12 PM
Golf Shotgun Start: 1 PM
Cocktail Reception: 5 PM

Our volunteer needs are as follows-

We would like volunteers to arrive at 10:30am.

Registration/Check Out volunteers-
We need volunteers to help us with our registration process. We use computers for this and a simple system to check golfers in as well as make their payments. Any registration volunteers will receive a training on this system when they arrive on event date. With that being said, we usually have volunteers arrive a little earlier than the actual event start time.

Registration Back Line volunteers- these volunteers assist the front line volunteers that are on the computers and they stand behind them, handing them the physical files of the golfers that are checking in/out to complete the necessary paperwork and then file them back. Ideally they're organized and can keep the files in alphabetical order as this makes this role run smoothly.

Auction volunteers- volunteers to help monitor the silent auction items and be available for assistance. We use mobile bidding for this event and we need people to have an iPad (that we provide and is hooked up to our auction system) for people who don't have a cell phone to use if they want to bid on an item. These volunteers also make sure that the winners at the end of the event are the ones going home with the correct items.

Bid for a Cure volunteers- volunteers to go to bidders who raise their hand during our Bid for the Cure portion of the event and hand them the blank sheet and a pen to fill out their information so we can properly charge them for their donation.

Floaters- we always have a need for volunteers that can fill in where they are needed, whether there was a cancellation or a long line develops. We always need a few volunteers on deck and ready to go.

Tear Down volunteers- ideally, everyone who was there for the day will help us with our quick tear down of the computers and registration bins and help load them into staff member's cars. We expect the event to end around 6pm/7pm and you are free to go once the cars are loaded!

So come spend your day at Brookside Country Club with us. This event is always fun and it's a perfect way to spend some of those last nice summer days of September! You'll be in wonderful company and we hope to have you there! :)
