We need your help to build food solutions in Delray Beach! In collaboration with students from Carver Middle School and several local churches, WiseTribe is working to get 100 "Garden Gates," which are vertical container gardens from upcycled wood pallets and single-use plastics, into the community of Delray the month of February.
You can help us reach this ambitious and important goal!
Join us Saturday & Sunday at Carver Middle to upcycle Garden Gates, vertical gardens which move Delray toward community food solutions!
The What: The "Garden Gate" is a 100% upcycled, vertical, compact container garden made from cast-off wooden pallets and recycled plastic bottles. We are designing, building, and distributing Garden Gates as a way to generate civic agriculture, low-tech innovations, plastic recycling and healthy neighborhoods as part of the #GetDirtyInDelray movement.
The Why: The Garden Gates can be stylishly made at low cost, help people save money to eat healthier, and raise awareness of the damage caused by single-use plastics.
The How:
*Painting - so wear paint clothes!
*Drilling plastics to the pallets - please bring drills if possible!
*Planting the Garden Gates
*Delivering Garden Gates to their new homes - Got a truck? Willing to help with delivering completed Garden Gates to their new homes in the community?
