The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is involved in the day-to-day operations of group home and supports one to three people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). The DSP will work together with program team, nursing, and finance to meet to needs of those served. The DSP will actively support persons with I/DD in maximizing their independence, self-advocacy, and decision-making. The DSP will have a key role in the provision of coverage involved for persons with I/DD. The DSP must meet the qualifications of a direct support professional and complete all trainings. This is an essential position and the position may not leave any shift until appropriate coverage has relieved them.
