Rock the Block is part of Habitat for Humanity in Dallas County, working with existing homeowners on necessary repairs or home-improvements. The goal is to revitalize entire neighborhoods while making homes safer, more affordabale and accessible, and helping homeowners stay in their homes for the long haul.
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY - WE SUPPLY ALL EQUIPMENT
Possible tasks for the day -
- window/door installation
- accessible ramp/safety features
- siding/painting
- landscaping
- weatherization
- and more!

Description
Greater Des Moines Habitat For Humanity is a locally operated affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical, Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold with no interest to those in need for the cost of the land and non donated materials at no profit.
Volunteers are the heart and soul of Habitat for Humanity. We welcome people from all walks of life to join us as we work to build affordable homes and hope in partnership with God and families in need.
There are many ways to become involved in Habitat's work. Volunteers can help in one or more of the following areas:

ReStore
Office and Administrative
Committees
Facility Maintenance
Family Services
History: Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity has been serving the Greater Des Moines community since 1986. To date, the organization has helped move more than 150 adults and 350 children into the safety and stability of homeownership.
