On novemeber 4th, 100+ GOODWILL volunteers will BE GIVEN ACCESS to a UNIqUE behind-the-scences glimpse of the world’s largest race. DONATION BIN ATTENDANTS WILL play a KEY role IN GW’S EFFORTS TO collect CLOTHING DONATIONS FROM 50,000+ RUNNERS. At last year’s marathon, goodwill diverted THOUSANDS OF pounds of used goods from landfills in just one day. these valuable donations fuel goodwill’s mission to empower individuals with disabilites and other barriers to employment to gain independence through the power of work. see more details below and sign up today!
TITLE
NYC Marathon Goodwill Bin Attendants play an integral role in rescuing thousands of pounds of clothing from the starting lines of the world’s largest race. These donations provide critical resources for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment.
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE
50,000 runners will require gentle reminders, direction, and have questions about making a clothing donation in one of the 500+ bins placed throughout the race. As a Bin Attendant, you will represent Goodwill on the front lines.
LOCATION
Fort Wadsworth, Staten Island, NY. Bus pickups will be available.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Answer questions from runners, ensure nothing is stolen from bins, ensure no trash enters bins and share the mission of Goodwill NYNJ with interested individuals.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to occupy a position for multiple hours, Confidence in communicating with strangers.
TIME COMMITMENT
Arrive no later than 5:30 am and stay until 12pm on November 4th.
TRAINING/SUPPORT PROVIDED
Attend 1 hour training webinar to go over logistics for the day and learn more about Goodwill NYNJ’s mission.
