Casa Central's Adult Wellness Center (AWC) offers daily center-based care to Latino and other older adults, 60 years of age and older, and provides a wide variety of fun and therapeutic activities that help older adults maintain, improve, and/or restore their emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being.
Spanish is the predominant language used in AWC and is most participant's native tongue. Our seniors are requesting opportunities to learn English as a Second Language. This opportunity would require on-going volunteer sessions teaching English vocabulary, writing and conversation in a class-room setting. (Providing English lessons to a classroom of Spanish-speaking seniors).
