About Our Savior Lutheran Church

261 W. 25th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208, US

Mission Statement

Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church (OSELC) exists to help hurting people to the healing cross of Jesus Christ. "For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus as the lord; and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake."

Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church is located at 261 W. 25th Street across from Ivy Tech. We have served the Highland Vicinity Neighborhood since 1939. We will celebrate our 80 year Anniversary next year, 2019. OSELC is the home of Rebecca's Garden Of Hope Tutoring & Mentoring Program - Indy. We offer free tutoring for "at-risk" students in grades K-5. We recently completed our second year of the program. Our third year starts on September 11, 2018. We have formed several Community Partnerships including Ivy Tech Community College, Tindley Genesis Academy, IUPUI and University of Indianapolis. We have tutoring on Tuesday and Thursday weekly from 5:00-7:30 P.M.; RGOH runs throughout the school year through May 2019. We provide a hot meal to students, tutors and Volunteers. Our goals include providing homework help with enhanced academics and finish the day with a 30-minute Bible Activity. Our Parents, Tutors/Volunteers and Community Partners speak highly of our program success. We served 30 K-5 students last school year. Our goal is to have one tutor for each student. That's where volunteers come in.
