ECHO is seeking highly motivated and compassionate Client Center Volunteers to join our team. Client Center Volunteers must be caring individuals who want to make a difference in someone’s life and be willing to join us in our mission to provide the best service and resources to our clients.
Desirable Skills:
Computer Skills: Proficiency in typing and data collection.
Please note: Must be comfortable asking sensitive questions.
Critical Thinking: The ability to find solutions and connect clients with additional community resources.
Compassion: The Client Center is the front door of ECHO. Sad stories are abundant. Volunteers must possess an extraordinary amount of patience, compassion, and understanding. A true desire and willingness to help.
Strong Communication Skills: Client Center Volunteers need to be good listeners and good speakers. They communicate with patients and their families and often are the go-between them and resources.
Organization: Multiple clients are assisted each day. Must possess the ability to keep records and the workstation in an orderly manner.
Training Provided:
Mandatory 8 hour Unity database training

3 weeks of on the job training with a seasoned volunteer

Description
Established in 1987, the Emergency Care Help Organization (E.C.H.O.) of Brandon is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community emergency food and disaster relief organization. Families who are having trouble making ends meet are given food, clothing, and household items assistance. E.C.H.O. provides help to Greater Brandon area single parents, homeless persons, retirees, families in transition, under-employed and unemployed households, grandparents raising grandchildren and others in need.
