The first official Arbor Day celebration in the City of Napa was held in 1990. This year the City will celebrate its 29th annual Arbor Day event. Over the past 29 years the City of Napa has planted over 900 trees as part of this event.
The emphasis of our tree planting this year is focused on park areas that experience heavy recreational use, have had trees removed and there is a need for additional shade. This year the Arbor Day Celebration will be held at Kennedy Park on September 22nd from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. For this year's Arbor Day, we will be planting over 200 trees at three different locations throughout Kennedy Park.
For anyone who comes out to the Arbor Day Celebration, we will have lunch once the event is done. If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to the Parks & Recreation Volunteer Coordinator.
