The Arlington Free Clinic (AFC) is seeking Medical Scribe Volunteers to assist providers by actively entering information into patients’ Electronic Medical Records (EMR) during appointments. The scribe enters information dictated by the provider into an eNote created for the given appointment using Health-e-State software. Scribes must have an understanding of both the EMR system within Heath-e-State and of generic medical terminology.
The AFC asks that prospective volunteers carefully consider all of their work and familiar commitments before beginning a volunteer relationship with AFC. Due to time and training invested in our volunteer providers, we ask for a minimum eight-month commitment to serving at AFC.
Training for this volunteer job is provided and required before assisting a provider.
The ideal scribe must be:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Available on Tue, Wed, or Thu between 1 pm and 4 pm.

New wellness programs and increased focus on preventive care help our patients live healthier lives. And, for the first time since the Clinic opened, visits to the dentist allow our patients to go out into the world with a confident smile.
Since 1994, Arlington Free Clinic has been committed to providing exemplary health care for Arlingtonians in need, serving about 1,600 patients each year. Access to health care makes such a critical difference in the lives of individuals and families - giving them peace of mind and economic security - and we continue to work every day toward a healthier Arlington.
