Literacy Volunteers of Wayne County

Do you have a passion for life-long learning?

Are you committed to making a difference in the community?

Are you deeply concerned about levels of education and literacy across Wayne County?

Consider becoming a Board Member with the Literacy Volunteers of Wayne County!

Our mission at Literacy Volunteers of Wayne County (NY) is to promote increased literacy in our community. We do this through well-trained volunteer tutors who provide free, one-to-one instruction in reading and writing, and English as a Second Language (ESL).

Never served on a Board? No problem! Your fellow Board Members will be happy to guide you!

A Board Member is responsible for ensuring the organization has enough human, fiscal and community resources, and they provide the expertise and guidance required to conduct the organization's affairs. Fundraising and public relations are also major duties of a non-profit Board Member.

Board Meetings are held every other month for about 2 hours. Board members are also involved in other exciting agency activities during the course of a year, such as our annual Scrabble Tournement and Spelling Bee.

Help us take our Board of Directors the the next level! Contact us today!
