Description: If you love nature and enjoy talking to people, consider volunteering at the Huntley Meadows information desk. You will welcome and orient visitors to the park, answer questions and phone calls, and assist with gift shop sales. Come join us!

Purpose: Assist visitors in enjoying Huntley Meadows Park, as well as understanding its natural and historical resources.
Duties: Greets visitors upon arrival at the center. Records number of visitors to the center. Orients visitors to the park, including its natural and cultural features, facilities, rules and regulations, and programs. Hands out written materials. Answers phone and takes messages when needed. Assists with gift shop sales and other projects as needed.
Qualifications: Ability to communicate and interact with people of all ages and backgrounds. Background or interest in natural and cultural history. Pleasant telephone manner. Ability to work independently. Comfortable working in a public setting where routine varies. Interest in the stewardship of the county's natural and cultural resources. Weekend availability. Volunteers may be required to obtain a FFX log-on and receive PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards) training. Must attend site orientation and on-the-job training as required. Volunteer, Cash Handling and Facility Based Safety Training will be provided.
