350 Bay Area https://350bayarea.org is a rising tide of thousands of volunteers urgently concerned about global warming. Founded in 2012 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, we are committed to protecting our communities from the damage caused by the devastating effects of fossil fuels. Our ultimate goal is that all who live in the Bay Area and beyond equitably share clean air, water and soil in a healthy, thriving and stable post-carbon future.

350 Bay Area is seeking a seasoned Development Director to work part-time from a home/virtual office as a volunteer or paid consultant to oversee and grow our individual donor engagement program, initially on a project basis. You will work in collaboration with the 350 Bay Area Volunteer Fundraising Team and Executive Director. Our intent is that this role becomes longer-term and gradually encompasses an increasingly complex development department (i.e. corporate relations, grant writing and management, event planning).

This opportunity is ideal for someone who desires challenging and rewarding work and prefers to work part-time from home. Candidates must be local and able to attend periodic fundraising events in the Bay Area, ranging from Oakland, Marin, San Francisco and Sonoma County as needed.

Your background ideally includes:

• BA/MA Degree and 7+ years of recent experience in a non-profit as a hands-on Senior Manager or Director of fundraising and development
• A proven track record increasing monthly donors and improving donor relations
• Interest in and passion for environmental and climate change issues
• Ability to produce results with a small team of dedicated volunteers
• Experience working closely with communications in developing successful fundraising campaigns on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
• Executive presence and excellent leadership/communications skills
• Strong project management and delegation skills
• Ability to attend periodic fundraising events locally in the SF Bay Area, ranging from Oakland, SF, Marin and Sonoma County.
