The Freeman Bookstore is staffed entirely by volunteers in support of Freeman Library. The store regularly needs new volunteers.

The principal duties are selling, straightening, & shelving books. Volunteers must also be able to learn Square point-of-sale technology. Shifts are 2-½ hours Monday through Saturday. Most shifts are currently staffed by incumbent volunteers, & the remainder are on a substitute list. Substitutes normally have ample opportunities to work when open shifts occur.

Good match for people who enjoy books &/or who have experience working in a book store or library. Sales experience is a plus.

Should live within 5-7 miles of the Freeman Library.

The bookstore is located inside Freeman Library in Clear Lake at 16616 Diana Lane, near the intersection of Bay Area Blvd. & El Camino Real. We are the used bookstore operated & staffed by the Friends of Freeman Library, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enhancing the Freeman Library through fundraising & advocacy efforts.

An application form can be found at https://friendsoffreeman.org/volunteer. Complete the application. Return it by email to FreemanFriends@yahoo.com or in person to the bookstore.

For additional information, please phone 832-927-5444 or email us at freemanfriends@yahoo.com.
