ORGANIZATION: Bridging The Gap
Please visit the new page to apply.
- A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
Volunteer with our Heartland Tree Alliance program to apply mulch to young trees at the Schlagle Library at Wyandotte County Lake!
Mulch is so important in young tree care not only to protect the bark from string trimmers and lawn mowers, but also to help retain moisture during our dry months. No prior experience is needed to be a mulching volunteer. Bonus: All volunteers will receive a reusable branded "Bridging The Gap" shopping bag and a KIND granola bar, courtesy of Cargill Cares!
Tools will be provided, but please wear gloves, sturdy shoes, long pants and bring a refillable water bottle.
Online advance registration required; click here https://www.tfaforms.com/4688278 to register. Immediately after registering, volunteers will receive an auto-email with more information. If you have a group or questions: Contact Sarah at 816-561-1086 or email sarah.crowder@bridgingthegap.org.
We apologize that we are not able to offer or sign off on court-mandated community service or disciplinary service. If you are unable to register online, please contact us for accommodations.

Bridging The Gap (BTG) educates citizens, businesses and governments about the impact their decisions have on our environment. We help them follow through with direct action to make our world, region and community green, healthy and sustainable.
BTG does this by working to create awareness of our environment and the need to make our communities sustainable at every level and in all life activities -- in homes, workplaces, schools and neighborhoods.
