EVENT DESCRIPTION: Join us on Saturday, October 27th for the 2018 Springmaid Trail Race 10K, 5K (Dog Jog) and NEW Half Marathon! The event will be held near and around the Field Trial Barn. The storied 31-year tradition of the Springmaid races continues this year with proceeds benefiting the Mary Warner Mack Dog Park. More than 500 runners are expected.
VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
PACKET PICKUP: Runners will grab their packets and numbers first thing Saturday morning.
REGISTRATION TABLE @ FIELD TRIAL BARN: 300 runners will be arriving between 6:30a and 7a We need volunteers registering runners and handing out Fall Frolic passes and race t-shirts. In order for this process to go smoothly we need volunteers!
RACE DIRECTIONAL VOLUNTEERS: Volunteer stays stationery and gives directional ques to runners at turns on the course.
RACE AWARDS: Help organize and hand out medals to runners!
LOCATION: Mary Warner Mack Dog Park, 148 Adventure Road, Fort Mill, SC 29715
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be comfortable working outside.
TIME COMMITMENT: Shorter shifts available
TRAINING: On site direction provided.
REPORTS TO: Greenway Staff
DRESS CODE: Volunteer shirt provided prior to event at the Springfield House (open 9a-5p).

Description
Leroy Springs & Company has been providing recreational and educational opportunities to the communities surrounding Springs Industries facilities for over 60 years. In 1995, the Anne Springs Close Greenway, a 2,100 acre nature preserve in Fort Mill, South Carolina, was dedicated to the public to serve as a natural buffer from urban development and a place for countless activities - from hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding, to picnics, kayaking and more.
The land was donated by the children of Anne Springs Close to honor her lifelong commitment to recreation and the environment. The Greenway is a not-for-profit entity which receives no ongoing tax dollars to build, maintain or operate its programs, trails and facilities. Owned and managed by Leroy Springs & Company, the Greenway is funded in part by memberships, program fees and generous donations from individuals and corporations.
