The Salvation Army Nampa Corps will be offering youth cooking classes for ages 8-14 this coming fall. Classes can begin as soon as we find enough volunteers willing to teach! Volunteers do not need to be master chefs, but they do need to love cooking, and be able to explain the basics in a fun and encouraging environment. Basic skills, including measuring, recipe terminology, and simple techniques will be covered. Classes will be held once a week, for 9 weeks. At the end of the course, the kids will hold a graduation dinner in which they prepare a meal for their family and friends!
If you are interested in leading a course, or if you have a specialty skill you would like to share in a 1-2 hour session, contact us! Kids would love to learn jam making, pickling, cake decorating, canning or any other skill you might have.
