Please attend this orientation to learn more about becoming a Volunteer Dog Ambassador at Mohonk Preserve.

Dog lovers and owners are especially encouraged to join the Preserve’s new Dog Ambassadors group, but this group is open to all volunteers. Dog Ambassadors will help educate guests with dogs on the Preserve’s dog walking policies and amenities, such as watering stations. Volunteers will visit high-use dog walking areas at the Testimonial Gateway, Spring Farm and Undercliff Road to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all. Volunteers are encouraged, but not required, to bring their well-behaved and leashed dog on their shifts to set a positive example.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to walk at least 2-3 miles per shift.
  • Good communication/people skills; able to diplomatically handle confrontational situations.
  • Excellent observation skills.
