World Computer Exchange's(WCE) Chicago Chapter is an active part of WCEs main mission to supply refurbished computers to classrooms in developing countries. Our chapter has been an active part of this work since 2005. We annually ship 400-800 computer sets overseas

The Chicago Chapter of WCE works 2-4 Saturdays/month preparing PCs for shipment. What we do: inventory equipment testing cleaning of equipment wiping hard drives installing operating systems and software repair PCs palleting for shipment. Teens and adults are welcome. Basic computer skills are needed for refurbishing. All of our tasks except repair can be learned during our orientation.

Right now we have a special need for individuals with A+ type skills who can repair equipment that fails during our refurbishing process. Generally we have Saturdays that are dedicated to fixing equipment that is in our "Repair Pile" once every 2 months on a Saturday from 9-3

Our warehouse is in the old Spiegal Catalog Warehouse at 1965 W Pershing Rd(39th St) in Chicago. We will send information and a YouTube link that will help you find our workshop. Please contact us to be added to a volunteer email database. Every Monday emails are sent to the members of this database to inform them of upcoming events and to allow them to sign up Question Brani Rogic volunteer@wcechicago.org
