Every Tuesday afternoon from 4:00pm-6:00pm, volunteers can gather at the Westmoreland Garden Project to help plant, cultivate, harvest, weed, and more! The Westmoreland Garden Project is a one acre vegetable production operation and small fruit orchard, managed by Antioch University New England. It donates all the produce to charitable causes, primarily the Community Kitchen in Keene, and is almost entirely supported by volunteers. We always need more help, so if you're interested, please reach out to communitygardens@antioch.edu, or rbrice@antioch.edu.
Bring:
- A water bottle
- Work gloves, sunscreen, bug repellent (optional)
- Snacks to share (optional)
- Your love of a good time!
The Garden is located at the intersection of River Road and Partridge Brook Road in Westmoreland, NH, near the site of the old County jail. There is a large wooden sign out front. 201 River Road is the nearest address to enter into GPS.

Mission Statement
Community Garden Connections (CGC) serves to build our local capacity to grow food. It addresses food insecurity related to climate change, personal and communal health, and resiliency. With the help of a private donation from the Rashti Foundation, CGC supports the installation and cooperative maintenance of raised gardens in partnership with local service agencies, students and community members. These funds also support educational outreach to meet the specific gardening interests of community partners.
Description
The CGC is committed to fostering access and interest in healthy food and environment by:
- Increasing access to healthy, affordable foods and thereby increase community food security
- Contributing to theCity of Keene’s goals for addressing climate change by increasing food security
- Building community members’ capacity to grow and cook healthy, affordable food and benefit community members’ physical and psychological health through gardening
- Creating opportunities for AUNE students and faculty to engage in service-learning and applied research projects related to agriculture and sustainability that support community-identified priorities
