As the summer starts its final weeks and schedules start to change, a new opportunity for volunteer service for families or individuals starts at our Sacred Heart Residence. It is called Adopt a Grand -Virtual Visit Volunteer Program.
Volunteers will be assigned a Resident that needs to be adopted and they will visit the Resident between 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM or 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM, once a week. The volunteer will video chat for 15 - 30 minutes with a Resident via Zoom Video Chat Call.
These volunteers will be virtually trained at their Zoom video orientation call and given the details about the importance of this program and the commitment that is needed. There is a no person to person contact, just video chatting.
For more information, please call Maria Ann at 251-476-6335 ext. 149.

Mission Statement
The Little Sisters of the Poor are an international congregation of Roman Catholic women religious founded in 1839 by Saint Jeanne Jugan. Together with a diverse network of collaborators, we serve the elderly poor in over 30 countries around the world. Continuing the work of Saint Jeanne Jugan, our mission is to offer the neediest elderly of every race and religion a home where they will be welcomed as Christ, cared for as family, and accompanied with dignity until God calls them to himself.
Description
Since 1901 at the same location in Mobile, Alabama, we have worked hard to give compassionate care to elderly men and women of the Gulf Coast region who have outlived their resources. More than 4,000 people from all walks of life, of all religions and beliefs, have made their home with us in Mobile.
