Give the gift of your time & utilize your talents. The gift of time is precious. Once given, you can never get it back. However, the impact of time shared can never be taken away. Please come share your gifts with those who have so little time remaining. Consider volunteering with us at Amedisys Hospice.
Common volunteer opportunities include:
* Provide patient companionship / socialization (i.e. board games, listen to music, talk)
*Military Veteran recognition/ companionship
* Sewing care/ comfort items
* Help patients write family letters
* Help patients with light house work
* Provide pet/music/ art therapy for Patients
* Provide caregiver respite
* Vigil volunteers (sit with transitioning patients in last hours)
* Clerical office duties (patient phone calls, filing & crafts)

Description
Hospice is a special form of care that is designed to provide comfort and support for those who are facing a life-limiting illness. It is a compassionate form of caring that promotes dignity and affirms quality of life for the patient, family members, and their loved ones. Our specialized team of hospice professionals works with the patient, family members, and attending physician to develop a plan of care that will best meet the patients individual needs.
We cover 11 counties in the Atlanta area so you can help in your own community if you like.
