Family Based Services volunteer mentors make long-term commitments to spend quality time with a child in our family-based services program. Mentors engage their mentee in developmentally appropriate community-based activities such as going to museums, parks, sporting games, restaurants, or sightseeing in the community. We match a volunteer with a child to spend quality time together at least four hour per month. Consistency in your visits with this child is crucial to developing trusting relationships with the children in our foster care. The schedule of visits is collaboratively created by the mentor, mentee, and foster parent.
