ORGANIZATION: Communities In Schools of Central Texas

Mentors serve as a consistent and caring role model for an elementary, middle, or high school student. Mentoring is focused on relationship building. There for, the student's preferences and interests will guide what each visit entails. During a weekly visit with the student, mentors may spend time playing games, talking, offering appropriate advice, making art, etc. Commitment: 1x per week for 1 hour on the student's school campus.

Description

Communities In Schools of Central Texas has programming in 100 elementary, middle, and high school campuses across Central Texas, providing support services to students and families. Volunteer opportunities range from one-time events to weekly commitments and can include working directly with students or supporting CIS behind the scenes. Campus-based volunteers are matched to meet weekly with a student during the school year, beginning in the fall and continuing until the end of the school year.
