Home Fire Campaign - St. Joseph County

ORGANIZATION: AMERICAN NATIONAL RED CROSS

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

The American Red Cross has an ongoing program called the Home Fire Campaign. This program involves going into at-risk homes and installing smoke detectors in order to reduce injury and deaths by fire emergencies by 25% over a 5 year period. We are currently in our third year of the program and are going strong in the South Bend area.

Currently, we need several groups to go out in pairs of two or three people while taking part in our rallies. We are looking to have four large rallies a year with the next one being in October. This is a great opportunity for people who want to volunteer but do not have a lot of time. The event will be for about five hours, the first hour including the training for documenting and meeting other volunteers.

If you are interested, please go to volunteerconnection.redcross.org and sign up as a Disaster Preparedness volunteer in regards to the Home Fire Campaign. Fill out your profile completely and we can contact you about your interest.

If you have any questions about volunteering or signing up, please don't hesitate to give our office a call.
