Our Work Ready Program participants work hard and dream big - for themselves and for their families. If you are looking for a great daytime (Mon-Thurs) volunteer opportunity once a week or so AND if you happen to have any kind of teaching, tutoring or mentoring experience, please consider this Chambersburg PA opportunity. Work Ready is a program designed by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services to assist families on Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF, Cash Assistance) overcome the barriers that prevent them from acquiring or maintaining employment. Participants are referred to the program by the local County Assistance Program. We can work around your weekday morning and early afternoon schedule to find the right slot for you. SCCAP offers a number of programs to assist our community, such as - Food Pantries, Homeless Shelters, Homeless Assistance Program / Rental Assistance, Child Care Information Services, WIC, Weatherization, Work Ready, Support Circles Program, Utility Assistance, and a Food Development Program.
