Want to have more meaning in your life? Do you want to do something that is satisfying and of great service to your community?

Then become a Volunteer for The Snohomish County Advisory Council on Aging! We seeking energetic and dynamic Snohomish County residents who are interested in addressing the needs and issues facing older persons and adults with disabilities through its general work and through committee work such as Advocacy & Diversity, Healthy Aging, Senior Centers, etc.

The Council meets on the Fourth Wednesday of every month, except for Dec., currently at Homage Senior Services in Lynnwood, WA. Meeting time is 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., subject to change.

Member responsibilities are: regularly attending monthly COA meetings, serve on at least one committee, attending COA sponsored events and hearings, attend all COA orientations if a new member.

Mission Statement

The purpose of the council shall be to advise the staff of the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD), the Human Services Department and the County Executive on policy and implementation of the Snohomish County Area Plan on Aging in order to secure and maintain maximum independence and dignity for older residents of Snohomish County and all individuals receiving services administered by the Aging and Disability Services Division.

Description

The Council on Aging (COA) is a 30 member citizens' advisory board comprised of energetic and dynamic Snohomish County residents who are interested in addressing the needs and issues facing older persons and younger persons with disabilities.
